A blush is always a must. You cant put any foundation or powder in your face without using a blush (unless you have the natural rosy cheeks -lucky you) or else your face will look flat and unnatural. And its so ridicuous how many colors are out there and it’ll make you look stupid if you can’t tell one with another. But basically, they are all variations of pink, peach and brown. And Cosmetics Companies just fool you into buying a color depending on how cool the color sounds.

And since I’m in the Valentine mood, I chose the Cupid color. It is very light pink compared to the Sunset Glow I’m using right now which has a bronzer effect. My husband swears he couldn’t tell the difference. But who cares, I got it for a cheap price anyway.

My First

My husband knows I spend hours and hours online browsing the nicest bags I can never own. My favorite sites are the official sites of Burberry, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. And since we’re not doing anything this weekend, I asked him to take me to a mall where I can see the bags in person. It was snowing in the isolated outlet mall in Pennsylvania, 2 hours from New York, but I was the happiest camper in the world. I was surrounded my discounted bags from Coach and Burberry. So I found a nice bag in Coach, quite affordable but I wanted to check Burberry first. Thats when I saw this bag but knew I cant afford it. My husband tells me its a waste of time to come all the way there just to look at it and urged me to buy it. I dont feel I deserve to shop yet, but its so hard to let go of the deal. I will never find it at that price. So I got it. I’ll just drop my tax refund on it when the bill comes.

Let me tell you about the bag, I love it. Its my first expensive and authentic designer bag. Its the classic and stylish Burberry tote that fits all the things I need in a day. I hate the thought of buying a small expensive bag where you cant put anything in it. So I was debating whether I buy the small special occasion bag, or the big everyday bag. I chose the big one for the same price. Although now Im not sure if I’ll use it everyday because its too special lol. But if you know the real me, whether its $20 or $700, I’ll make sure I enjoy every dollar I paid for it. It is now considered to be one of those things that makes me smile everyday I go to work. Thats not very many. LOL

Garnier Nutritioniste

In beauty forums, they call it a holy grail when you’ve found the perfect cosmetics or skin care for you. It took me about a month to figure out what HG mean in their posts. And right around that time I started using Garnier Nutritionist products. It was advertised by Sarah Jessica Parker and I got curious. I tried their cleansers, serums, make up remover, night cream, eye cream and daily moisturizer (ha! it is quite expensive too but I wanted to try it). So far, everything worked out great, Ive been using it for months and there clearly has an improvement with my skin. After all the torture I do to it and my occasional acne, lack of sleep and cheap cosmetics (not anymore) have all made my skin look haggard.  But with Garnier, my skin has become smooth again (I swear I started seeing wrinkles months ago).  It improved the hydration especially in winter. Their cleansers are average but the moisturizers are easily absorbed and you wake up with really nice skin in the morning. My favorites were the eye cream and night cream. Now I don’t look too old to be mistaken as my husband’s older sister.

But since I’m running out of my supply, I’m thinking of trying a new line. I’m so tempted with all the skincare products I haven’t tried out there. Especially the Philosophy Skincare line. But then again, why fix something if it ain’t broke. By the way, I’m also using their hair products. I’m not too passionate about it, but it works too. I just like seeing all the same products in the bathroom. Its like a collection.

Winter Blues

It was finally delivered yesterday! The shirts were on sale on It was too tempting. It was too good to let go despite of my New Year’s resolution to stop shopping -lol. Anyway, I bought four colors (orange, pink, green, and my all time favorite – white) for $12.90 each (original costs about $24). I’m stocking up for the summer because I’m too cooped up this winter. There’s a lot more activities and places to go to in summertime and more chances to wear my new shirts (that goes well with the new shorts I got from family back home last holiday)

NARS The Multiple – Orgasm

Posted in Cosmetics on February 3, 2008 by au13

I would be a little ashamed to ask for this particular color from a saleslady in Sephora. But I’m definitely buying this next time I go to the mall (whenever that is). The Multiple is a multitasking product that can be used as a blush, lipcolor and eyeshadow. And their bestselling color is called Orgasm. Its a peachy pink shimmer color (which is what I’m into nowadays). Dark winter colors are boring me so I make it up on my face by wearing pinkish colors. Now I only have to carry one product instead of three. And for busy people like me, a one product that does a lot of things is definitely a winner. Sephora, here I come. (no pun intended-lol)

Lancome Aqua Fusion Teinte

I quit looking for the perfect foundation, they all make me look like I’m wearing a mask. Thank God for tinted moisturizers especially this one from Lancome. Its a one step process every morning. A moisturizer with sunscreen and provides sheer coverage. What else could you ask for. It doesn’t dry out the skin and it doesn’t look oily either. And the sheer coverage lasts me till nighttime. Definitely, doesn’t feel like you’re wearing make up.

Harajuku Lovers

To finish off the Japanese trend in my shopping finds, Harajuku Lovers is also a brand that I find very catchy. Its a product line by Gwen Stefani inspired by a place in Japan where the youth displays their taste in fashion. Though I’m not very fond of bold and colorful designs, I hoped that someday Harajuku will come up with a compromising, neutral color or design that can be versatile everywhere. Something that matches anything and any ocassion. and Voila! Its a Medium sized Black Satchel that simply has a Harajuku symbol with a red interior. Very simple and very perfect timing when I saw it (my husband and I were fighting thru text messages and I needed something to make me feel good). It was the holidays so I got another 15% off at Macy’s. But while on vacation, I gave it to my best friend just because I wanted her to have a new bag. I loved it so much, but I love her too like a sister. So I just prayed that they still have it at the mall by the time i go back to the states. Surely, the day I arrived, I went straight to the mall, jetlag and all, and found that they still have one. THE last one. I guess it was really meant for me.
